Introductory Rumba Course – Term 3
“Whether you’re a seasoned musician or beginner, learning about Afro-Cuban music with Bombo is highly recommended.” Manos Felice, London
20th November – 15th January 2019
Bombo Productions is delighted to announce the third introductory rumba course. Rumba is the celebratory drum, song and dance tradition from Cuba. This music is influenced by other Cuban folkloric drumming styles such as batá and bembé. Students will learn conga techniques, syncopation, and examples of and drum rhythms for the three main types of rumbas: Yambu, Guaguanco and Columbia.
We also offer an introductory batá course on the same dates from 6.30 – 8pm and offer a discount if you book both courses together. For more information visit Introductory Batá Course.
When: 20th November – 15th January 2019
Time: 8.00 – 9.30pm
You can use our drums for free but you may need to help return them to where they are stored (which is 2 minutes from the venue). When you book please let us know if you need a drum.
